The Lord's Prayer is perhaps the most well-known prayer in Christianity, taught by Jesus Christ to his disciples as a model for how to pray. It's found in the Bible in the book of Matthew (Matthew 6:9-13) and also in the book of Luke (Luke 11:2-4). The prayer is a deeply significant and meaningful. It serves as a template for believers to communicate with God, expressing praise, petition, and acknowledgment of God's sovereignty.
Heavenly Father,
We come before you with hearts overflowing with gratitude and reverence. You are the source of all wisdom and love, and we thank you for teaching us how to pray.
Lord, you gave us the perfect example through your Son, Jesus Christ, who taught us the words to say and the posture of our hearts as we come to you in prayer. We are thankful for the privilege of knowing you and of lifting our voices to Adoni who hears our every word.
In every season, in every circumstance, may prayer be our anchor, our comfort, and our strength. We thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of prayer and for the privilege of drawing near to you.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen
